Every year around mid-March, nearly every website on the interwebs puts forth some sort of tournament or competition. Undoubtedly inspired by the NCAA tournament, they usually pit some item of pop culture versus another in a whimsical fashion. It’s a quite arbitrary, silly and cliche. Which is exactly why we’re launching a tournament of our own this year!

For the next few weeks, we’ll be delving into the world of villainy to determine the greatest villain in the history of mankind!

We’ve split 32 villains into 4 categories: Cartoons, TV, Movies and Real-life, with the winners of each bracket… well, you understand the basic idea of a tournament, right? It will pretty much be standard tournament procedures, except that when you disagree with our choice, you’ll be able to vote for the villain you believe should win. If the NCAA tournament had that feature, Duke would always lose in the first round. Since we’re a sports blog, we’ve also determined the sports world equivalent of villain.

Our first category, coming later today, is cartoons. Be sure to check back this weekend and vote!

Get behind it, the ABFA just did:

For a record shattering 10th consecutive year Billy Packer will receive the coveted “SHUT THE HELL UP!” award from the American Basketball Fans Association.
