I cannot believe I beat ESPN.com to that headline.
“Oh, crap. What is that thing with the huge head coming this way?”
So, Favre is now in the NFL’s largest media market. Yea. And if your thinking it’s finally over, no sir.
Not by a long shot.
Now we have to endure Brett getting to camp, how this makes Kellen Clemens (the most likely starter up to this point) feel, the impending release of Chad Pennington. And that’s just this week.
As for the trade, 1991′s Second round pick for the Atlanta Falcons was traded for a fourth round pick that increases in value based on the success the Jets have. Possibly even a first round pick should the Jets make it to the Super Bowl. If the deal is as reported, it appears both teams win. Green Bay won’t play the Jets this year unless both teams make it to the Super Bowl. If that happens, I’ll eat my hat, but Green Bay would end up with two late first rounders to help bolster their NFC Championship roster.
Brett wins too. After all, he’s not in Green Bay where they have so utterly disrespected him by moving on after he announced his retirement.
So, here we go. Now maybe ESPN can cover some other teams camp. As a Cowboys fan, I’d like some more info out of Oxnard, please.
