Do you believe in Karma? Bill Belichick and the New England are about to.
Now while I’ve never claimed to comprehend religion or philosophy, I got this Karma thing. Do good things and good things happen to you and vice versa. Thanks to some wonderful writers who bring us “My Name is Earl” for the explaination.
So what does that have to do with the Pats? Well since 2000, Bilicheck has been taping the oppenents coaches. Last year during the season opener against the Jets, Jet’s coach Eric Mangini blew the whistle on the Pats. While Bilicheck was able to talk in circles until Roger Goodell felt a fair punishment was one draft pick and some money instead of the obvious “you cheated, got caught you lose that game” forfit that should have come. Goodell let them off the hook, but Karma was watching.
As the undefeated Pats prepared for a corination as the greatest NFL team ever during the week before the Super Bowl, Brady showed complete comtempt for the underdog Giants by laughing off a Plaxico Burress 23-17 prediction because there was no way he was getting held to just 17 points. Karma was watching.
Karma worked it all out for us in one of the greatest Super Bowls ever. And the Pats didn’t go undefeated. And the Pats couldn’t even muster the 17 points by the end, which would have at least tied the game and given them a chance to save face….nope Karma was having none of that.
Then we head into the offseason and hear reports pop up from all over the league that the Patriots regularly practice players thay have designated to Injured Reserve. So every other team in the NFL puts a player on IR and that ends there season…no playing, no practicing. But the team gets to use that roster spot for someone else. But not our friends in New England. IR means get better and then come work on your skills with the rest of the team, and give those guys on our 53 man roster a little rest now and then…nobody cares what the rules really say. Except Karma.
Speaking of injuries, the New England Patriots are the slyest guys to ever write an injury report. Tom Brady has been listed on the injury report since the 2005 season opener. Not because he’s really injury prone, but because Bilichek loves to flip the bird at the opposing teams, media and football fans, and he loves trying to mess with everyone’s mind. And Karma took notice.
Bilichek was apparently tired of his little game, so for the first time in three years Tom Brady was 100% healthy according to the Patriots orginization. Until midway through the first quarter of the season opener on Sunday. Karma caught up with Brady in the form of Kansas City safety Barnard Pollard.
Now Brady will make his trip to the IR, and if Bill thinks he can practice Brady while he’s on IR without anyone noticing he’s finally gone from genius to insanity.
Congrats New England….you’re riding the Karma train.

Well said, JP. You’ve reassured me that karma is really real, sorry Brady had to take the hit.
