And here we go again…

The latest off-season tradition in professional football is back.

ESPN’s Ed Werder is reporting that Brett Favre and Brad Childress will meet soon to discuss Favre coming out of retirement for the second year in a row.

Favre, apparently, didn’t do enough damage to his legacy by falling apart at the end of last season with the Jets.  On the other side of things, the Vikings have a couple of backups at QB with Tavaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels but no starter.  With the Bears “upgrading” from Kyle Orton to Jay Cutler and the Lions grabbing Matt Stafford with the number one pick, Childress seems ready to take a chance on the soon to be 40 future Hall of Famer.  Since I figure Childress only has one year left as the coach in Minnesota and Favre will only play a year before declaring retirement…again…this might be a great fit.

No word yet on when Madden will announce his unretirement like his hero.

I just figured if a stand-up guy like Brett could do it for all us football fans…you know… I could show my appreciation to Brett by following in his footsteps.
