Now don’t get me wrong, I love a good power trip as much as anyone, but don’t Major League umpires have to have thicker skin than this? If umps start tossing every person that disagrees with a call, there are going to be some empty stadiums…sorry, some emptier stadiums.
It’s all OK now though. Victorino later said he has a ton of respect for umpire Ed Rapuano. “I love the guy, that’s why, I think I was even more upset it’s that, he’s just one of those guys you can play grab-ass with and have fun with out there on the field. You know, I mean, sincerely.”
