Before we get started, a reminder: The 1st and last weeks of the NFL season are the toughest to pick winners. There is nothing to base your selections on except hype and preseason. So, with caution as our guide, let’s make some scratch!
1. Bengals +5 vs. @Patriots: Per usual, the Pats are overrated coming out of the blocks. I believe the Bengals will make playoffs this year and will BEAT NE on opening day!

2. Cards -4 vs. @ Rams: I know Bradford looked great in his last preseason game. However, he is a rookie QB, and the Lambs couldn’t protect their Heisman Sooner with a bazooka & nunchucks! I look for 5 sacks and 2 picks….Final 34-10 Cards!

3. 49ers -2 vs. @ Seahawks: 49ers should be the most improved team in the league and the Hawks are the Hawks..old, slow, too many average RB’s. Niners in a rout! 32-7.

4. Ravens +2 vs. @ Jets: Okay, let me say it out loud…the Jets are way overrated! They’ve gone completely Hollywood with their TV stint on Hard Knocks. Yucking it up and playing grab-ass while other teams are workin’ to prepare for the gruelling season. Oh ya, they are havin’ a great time, however, not ready for opening day against one of the better NFL teams. Take the Birds in this one.

There’s your “4-pack” for opening weekend. Always remember, if you lose your ass on Sunday, Monday Night Football is your bailout opportunity.
