Like always, the opening weekend of college football offered plenty of surprises. Here are a few:

-Hawaii now known as the Double Rainbow Warriors

-Oregon’s new quarterback/running back combo faster than previous one and should be able to steal without getting caught

-Michigan’s stadium expansion features state-of-the-art exits to safely allow for thousands of fans to file out early in the fourth quarter during blowout defeats

-Rice quarterback plays pretty well against Texas until his glasses get broken

-Houston Nutt moved mid-season collapse up a few weeks

-North Carolina quarterback’s 410-yard performance without the aid of top running back and top receiver shows he just hated them and didn’t want them to look good

-Florida’s new quarterback is a devout atheist which he proclaims by not wearing any eye black
