Nebraska Traditions

Last week, Nebraska Cornhuskers head coach Bo Pelini awarded his defense the coveted “blackshirts,” black jerseys worn by the starters during practice, a long-standing tradition at the university. Here are some other Nebraska traditions:

-Barn tipping and cow raising

-Having Lil’ Red appear at children’s birthday parties to frighten them beyond reason

-Shucking the freshmen

-Presenting fresh helmet of moonshine to player with the most tackles per game

-Trying to figure out if that Springsteen album is complimentary or derogatory
