In the sixth episode of “Raise the Stakes!” we talk about the recent effort of the citizens of Detroit to raise money for the building of a Robocop statue. Hopefully one day it will join the Rocky Balboa statue in Philadelphia as a statue of a fictional character that serves to represent the city.
Thinking about this, we propose other ideas for statues to be erected in cities across the country (and even one across the ocean). We also debate the possible choices for the two largest cities, New York and LA. Along the way, we discuss everything from hippies to porn to harsh criticism of a 1940′s children’s book.
